Ambassador Tsegab Kebebew Daka

Ambassador Tsegab Kebebew Daka is currently the Permanent Representative of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other International Organisation in Switzerland, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Switzerland and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office at Vienna, UNODC, IAEA, CTBTO & UNIDO in Vienna/Austria as well as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Austria, and designated Ambassador to Hungary and Romania.

Ambassador Tsegab Kebebew Daka is a career diplomat. Ever since he joined the foreign service in 1994, he has served in various capacities in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, and in Ethiopia’s embassies in Beijing, the Hague and Washington DC. Prior to his recent posting as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Commonwealth of Australia, he was Deputy Chief of Mission in the Ethiopian Embassy in the Hague/Netherlands, and the Director General for Asia and Pacific Directorate of the Ministry. He has also been the Coordinator for United Nations Security Council Affairs, leading the campaign for Ethiopia’s successful bid to join the Council for the 2017-18 term.

Ambassador Tsegab Kebebew Daka holds an MA in political science from Jawaharlal Nehru University, India and an Executive Master in Governance & Development Policy from CERIS-ULB Diplomatic School of Brussels.
