The first meeting of the newly elected ExCom Bureau members was held today at the UNHCR Headquarters in Geneva. Amb. Tsegab Kebebew, Permanent Representative of Ethiopia to the UN and the current second Vice-Chairperson of the ExCom bureau participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, UNHCR representatives briefed the bureau members on some key thematic agenda items such as the ExCom rules of procedure, an overview of international protection and the programme budget for 2025.
The Executive Committee Bureau comprises four office holders: the Chairperson, two Vice-Chairpersons and the Rapporteur representing one of the four United Nations regional groups. The Bureau was elected at the end of the annual plenary session in October.
