During an online briefing session held today, October 1, 2024, addressing the next World Without Hunger Conference, H.E Ambassador Tsegab Kebebew urged all member states and stakeholders to take collective action to tackle food insecurity, emphasising the importance of united efforts.

In his opening remarks, Amb. Tsegab thanked UNIDO for organizing this online briefing session and highlighted Ethiopia’s continuous collaboration with the organization. He underscored the importance of sustainable industrialization in addressing global hunger and noted that Ethiopia is dedicated to initiatives aimed at combating food insecurity, a critical issue affecting millions. He expressed optimism that the conference would showcase Ethiopia’s progress in food security and strengthen the global commitment to eradicating hunger.

Ambassador Tsegab stressed the urgency of the event, pointing out that over 733 million people globally suffer from hunger, with Africa facing particularly severe challenges. He looks forward to welcoming participants in November to foster meaningful dialogue and collaboration.

The World Without Hunger Conference will be organized with the partnership of UNIDO, FAO, AU, and the Government of Ethiopia from November 5th to 7th 2024 at the Adwa Museum in Addis Ababa, attracting over 1,500 participants, including heads of state and experts. The conference will facilitate discussions on innovative solutions for food security.
