Dear Visitors,

Welcome to the official website of the Permanent Mission of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the United Nations Office in Geneva (UNOG) and other international organizations in Switzerland. The Permanent Mission is also accredited to the UN office in Vienna (UNOV). It also serves as a base for Ethiopia’s bilateral diplomatic representation. Ethiopia effectively maintains an embassy to Switzerland with concurrent accreditation to Austria, Hungary, Romania.
The website, therefore, informs Ethiopia’s activities in the multilateral and bilateral realms. In the multilateral arena, particularly in Geneva, the Permanent Mission engages with up to 40 international organizations and with at least five organizations in Vienna. The Permanent Mission focuses, among others, on human rights, humanitarian, labor and social issues, disarmament, environment as well as economic, trade and development and engages with relevant organizations.
In the bilateral arena, Ethiopia’s diplomatic relations with Switzerland, Austria, Hungary and Romania are historic and based on mutual respect and understanding. We promote Ethiopia’s interests in the areas of trade, investment, tourism, development cooperation and other partnerships.We believe the website could be a possible source of information for anyone wishing to invest or travel to Ethiopia. We have also made available information on the services that we provide. As most services are provided online, we hope customers will be served with ease. In accordance with Ethiopia’s Diaspora Policy, Ethiopians and people of Ethiopian origin living in Switzerland, Austria, Hungary and Romania are encouraged to invest in Ethiopia and/ or contribute to the development of Ethiopia. You are kindly advised to contact with the Diaspora and Consular section for further information.
