H.E. Dr. Kassahun Gofe, Minster of Trade and Regional Integration and Chief Negotiator of Ethiopia’s WTO accession , held a productive discussion in Geneva today with H.E. Ambassdor Xiangchen Zhang, Deputy Director General (DDG) of WTO, and exchanged ideas on the upcoming 5th Working Party Meeting of Ethiopia.
During the discussion, H.E. Dr. Kassahun highlighted the reforms Ethiopia has undertaken and requested the DDG to give priority to arrange the 5th Working Party Meeting at the earliest time possible as Ethiopia has already submitted all the required documents H.E. the Minister also expressed his gratitude for the technical support provided so far and requested its continuation.
In response, the Deputy Director General H.E. Ambassdor Zhang reaffirmed that Ethiopia is a priority country for the WTO in the accession process and assured H.E. Dr. Kassahun, that the support will continue throughout its accession journey.
