H.E Ambassador Tsegab Kebebew addressed the 10th Intergovernmental Negotiating Body (INB), which is meeting in Geneva from July 16-17, 2024.
In his statement, Ambassador Tsegab emphasized that the operationalization of equity and global solidarity underpin the success of the negotiations and called for the need to keep the momentum and finalize the remaining work before the end of 2024.
It is to be recalled that the 77th World Health Assembly has decided to extend the mandate of the INB to finish its work as soon as possible and submit its outcome for consideration by WHA 78 or earlier by a special session if possible by 2024.
The INB is negotiating a WHO convention, agreement or other international instrument on pandemic prevention, preparedness and response.
