H.E. Ambassador Tsegab Kebebew, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia to Romania held talks with senior government officials and the business community during his visit to Romania this week.
In discussions with Mr. Valentin Budau, Director of the Africa and Middle East Department at Romania’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two sides explored avenues to bolster their longstanding relationship, with understanding reached on the resumption of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries.
Ambassador Tsegab also held discussions with Ms. Liana Mostenescu, Director General for European Affairs and International Relations at Romania’s Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, where they agreed to expedite the completion of a bilateral labor cooperation agreement, further advancing their partnership.
In talks with Mr. Ovidiu Loan Silaghi, Secretary General of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania, the necessity of reconnecting the chambers of commerce in both nations was highlighted as another avenue for strengthening economic ties, particularly for increased trade and investment.
The Ambassador also visited Arad city where Ethiopia’s Honorary Consul, Mr. Ion Sandu resides. He visited P.A.B., the largest steel manufacturing company in Romania which is owned by the Honorary Consul, made an address on Ethiopia’s agriculture and its investment potentials at the University of Life Sciences and met with the city manager of Arad among others.
Ethiopia remains committed to enhance its diplomatic and economic relations with Romania, paving the way for a future marked by wide ranging cooperation and mutual growth.
