H.E. Ambassador Tsegab Kebebew conferred with Dr. David Reddy, Director General of the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations (IFPMA) on August 15, 2024 in Geneva.
They exchanged views on possibilities of investment opportunies for local manufacturing of medicines and health products in Ethiopia. Accordingly, H.E. Ambassador Tsegab provided an update on the government’s commitment and latest policy measures to fostering a conducive ecosystem that is favourable for local manufacturing to both domestic and foreign pharmaceutical companies. They also exchanged views on the desire for constructive engagement of the industry and private sector in ensuring equity in the INB negotiations.
The IFPMA represents the innovative pharmaceutical industry with over 90 members. Its work is focused on promoting pharmaceutical innovation and serving as a bridge between between the pharmaceutical industry and other relevant stakeholders including the UN system.
